1930s Art Deco Oak Captain's Chair or Desk Chair by J Hunter & Co. Ltd. of Manchester, with Drop-In Leather? Seat

An exceptional 1930s Art Deco piece in very good condition, with broad bow-back and arms of highly-figured dark golden oak, on shaped supports, slat back and shaped square main supports continuous with the rear legs, shield-shaped saddle seat with original drop-in pad covered in a brown leather or leatherette, on square, tapering front legs, the four legs united by a double H-stretcher with bowed side pieces, with an original ivorine trade label underneath for J Hunter & Co. Ltd. of St. Mary's Parsonage, Manchester, this great captain's or desk chair is both stylish and eminently practical and will impress in the most elegant of gentlemen's studies, certain to attract the admiring attention of your visitors.

This is a period second-hand piece from the 1930s, so you may expect some light wear & tear commensurate with age & normal use but, other than a little shrinkage movement in the joints of the curved right-hand side stretcher and one tiny hole in the leather, it's in very good, clean & sound condition, ready to use in your home.
